The original capital of the first
Thai kingdom, we visited the Sukothai Historical Park, 12km. from the
new city of Sukothai. This 2 sq. km park is the original city with earthen
walls and gates, but is just the beginning of the 13th century ruins.
There are 45 sq. km. of ruins spread out all over the countryside. We
rented a bicycle to get to some of the sites, but I would highly recommend
a motorcycle if you ever make the trip.
