Having served as the royal capital of Siam for over 400 years, Ayuthaya is full of ancient Wats and Palaces. We only spent an afternoon here, but Wat Ratburana was one of the more fascinating Wats we saw in Thailand. You could walk down some very steep stairs into the crypt of the chedi to see murals painted on the walls of the burial chamber.
